Install Blanc.

macOS

macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.

  1. Open the downloaded DMG.
  2. Drag Blanc to Applications.
  3. Open Blanc from Applications. Gatekeeper checks Apple’s notarization on first launch.

Windows

Windows 10 or later, 64-bit (x64).

  1. Run the downloaded installer.
  2. Check that Windows names the publisher shown on the official release. Stop if it names no one, or someone else.
  3. Open Blanc from the Start menu.

Linux

64-bit (x64), on a currently supported release of a major distribution such as Ubuntu, Fedora or Debian.

  1. Make the AppImage executable: chmod +x Blanc-*.AppImage
  2. Run it from your file manager or a terminal.

Or install with Homebrew

On a Mac with Homebrew, one command installs the same signed and notarized build as the DMG.

  • Blanc keeps updating itself, so brew upgrade leaves it alone.
  • Already installed Blanc from this page? Quit it, move it to the Trash, then run the command. Your tabs, Favorites and settings stay.

iPhone · Beta

Blanc for iPhone, in beta.

An early build of Blanc for iPhone is open for testing through Apple's TestFlight. It joins the Sync you set up in Blanc on your computer, so your other devices' tabs and your Favorites come with you, and it blocks ads and trackers. Expect rough edges, and tell us what breaks.

Join the beta on TestFlight

Needs iOS 18.4 or later and Apple's free TestFlight app.

Signed, and checkable

Every macOS build is code-signed and notarized with Apple. Public Windows releases are Authenticode-signed, and the release pipeline refuses an unsigned installer. Checksums, signature evidence, and an SBOM accompany new releases.

Updates arrive in place

Installed release builds check GitHub Releases and update themselves automatically — no separate updater, no account.

Bounded usage counts, with an off switch

Usage measurement is preselected on a fresh profile, and nothing sends until you save that choice. It never includes browsing history, URLs, searches, or page content.

Is Blanc a good fit?

Check the integrations you rely on

Blanc has no general third-party extension runtime. Its device-bound Touch ID passkeys are macOS-only, and its optional, user-invoked 1Password bridge isn’t available on Windows on Arm. Synced provider passkeys, including iCloud Keychain, are not supported. If your workflow depends on an extension, check that limitation before switching.

Free, including Blanc Spaces

Every feature is free, including tab groups and saved Blanc Spaces. Blanc Patron is the optional subscription: US$30 per year or US$4 per month, plus applicable tax. It supports Blanc’s development and unlocks nothing.

How Blanc Spaces work

A compact everyday workflow

Open your inbox and a few articles. Preview a tab’s dot, select it, then use the full list or Cmd/Ctrl+L to find an article by name. Save a Favorite, group related tabs, and use built-in blocking while you browse.

Every download button points to the latest Blanc release on GitHub. If your download does not start, open the release page.
